Met up with my old school senpai earlier. It's been 6 years since we last talked. The unfortunate passing of a mutual friend in the past got us to keep in touch again. First thing he said was that I looked like sh*t. I agreed while monotonically smile-laughing like an idiot.
Told him that I fainted for the first time recently and hit my face on the wall, hence why I looked like I got punched by Mike Tyson's 2 hit combo. That spell happened the day after I decided to return to writing after meditating on Tau.net for half a decade. Perhaps my lack of sleep finally caught up after I downed 2 cans of beer to celebrate this little new beginning for myself.
"Better take care of your health. Whatever you're obsessed with won't run away." he said.
Anyway, we talked and I showed him what I've been losing my sleep over. To my surprise, he said that I talked about Tau before, 6 years ago when we last spoke. That must've been when I just discovered it. Told him that I've never felt more alive all these years but it's kinda scary that I'm just pretty much only betting on one thing at this point because I don't find anything else in crypto and AI interesting anymore. I can't help it. What else can I do?
He hasn't looked deeply in Tau but being a supportive senpai as usual, he said "Looks like you've found your calling. You've been looking into this stuff for the longest time. Maybe you're really onto something here. I pray and hope that you are, habibi."
I don't believe in prayers, but that was seriously nice to hear.
Methinks it's not radical to be yearning for something that is truly dependable so I don't have to juggle sh*t around all the time, being slave to the market. The world is always changing. The superpowers of today will not last because they're not built to last. So keep your eyes on the prize. An AI will surely be at the center of our universe. Question is which?
It'd be a nightmare to come back from my long offline holiday someday just to find my portfolio rekted because I missed out on the biggest disruptor in the 21st century, something that could possibly eat most of the cake. I think this is a possible scenario when a small group of people has figured out the path towards the development of the most powerful AI (network & economy) and crypto (currency) possible.
It's the tallest order, but isn't that what we deserve?
A decentralized software that is self-defined and constructed by everyone's discussions asynchronously on the network via formalized knowledge and opinions (page 7, whitepaper).
Isn't that the best possible alignment for all by definition and function? This is truly beyond Bitcoin methinks. It is crypto as f*ck. It's also miraculously the only solution to the AI safety problem. Please let me know if you've found a more legit design.
Ohad Asor's thinking is sharp af, truly. I'm still so impressed to this day.
It's actually pretty sobering to see people all over the internet, especially within crypto and AI circles talking about parts of Tau on the daily without knowing it's already being worked on for so many years. Check out https://twitter.com/AndrewOnizuka who has been finding instances of this phenomenon. But why am we still like the only ones who are very into it even after all these years if it's such a big deal? How am I "frontrunning" billion-dollar research firms by so many years?
I'm just one guy with one brain, although admitted I do have a lot of time to slowthink. Maybe the biggest thing that sets me apart is that I don't care much about short term gains. Delayed gratification ftw. I'm not slacking off on what I think is the world's best gripto while it's still undervalued and that's exactly what I've been doing for the past thousand days.
Anyways, f*ck it, maybe that's all it takes. I'm not gonna discount myself too much. Maybe I've indeed been working harder than most mfs and that's why I'm early af.
I'd like to think that I look like sh*t today for a good reason!
Now go, request for your access to what I think is the early unsexy version of The Most Powerful Thing Ever™ today @ https://tau.net. Please share the website with all your brypto and ehyaii buddies if you think it's at least more interesting than the next cash grab.
