I have not finished reading it all yet, so i may add something else as well.
You dont seem to understand what socialism is, at guess you mat be confusing it with communism? I dont know.
you say:
Having some utopian society will NEVER happen. You will always have the drug addicts, the mentally ill:
Nobody is asking for or expecting utopia.
The fact remains that the larger the wealth gap between rich and poor in any society the more physical ailments, mental health and addiction problems arise.
The more pronounced the gap the more of these problems. Its just the way humans work.
''Rewarding people for making bigger sacrifices and taking larger risk is what has fostered so much innovation and has helped us arrive at this glorious point in humanity''
We are not at a glorious point ! Its at least as bad as it has ever been. You must live in a wonderful bubble (so do I but at least i can see the reality of the lives of others)
I find this line most amusing:
''We need a medium of exchange for our goods and services''
who was suggesting a barter system?
Also:
''We could use this money to fund services for the less fortunate and also to give to younger people so that they have a better shot at building a productive future.'' you are describing socialism I agree with you but at the beginning you argue against socialism! very strange
i wont read any more
