And vice versa - with depression their level immediately decreases.
Appreciate what we have. I think the problem for many of us is that we do not know how to live in the present. We miss the past and look forward to the future instead of enjoying life here and now. We all think that as soon as we get a more paid work, we will meet a man, etc., everything in our life will finally be adjusted, and we will be happy. That is, in fact, we are shifting responsibility for our lives to a new employer, a new man, and when we do not get what we expected from them, we are disappointed. And so it repeats until we learn to appreciate the present and not overestimate what we do not have.
Choose friends who love life.
Probably, you often noticed how you are charged with the energy of a person with whom you communicate, both positive and negative. If a person has managed to tell you about how he "suffers", how nobody "understands" him and how bad the world is, you get into a really bad mood. But it is enough to communicate with a positive person, and even if before that you were in a bad mood, you will feel much happier.
Humor is the best way out of any embarrassing situation. The ability to laugh at oneself is a special gift that helps everyone who has it. If you are in a situation that is unpleasant to you, rather than be upset, imagine that you need to tell about it to strangers, in such a way to make them laugh. This will help to look at the situation from a different angle, and it will no longer seem hopeless to you, which, of course, will allow you to treat life's vicissitudes more calmly.
There are no trifles in life.
I'll start with an example. I love hair products from one cosmetic company. They have a new product - shampoo with menthol, an irreplaceable thing on a hot day! When you wash your head, it cools and gives pleasant sensations. A friend from another city came to visit me. She used my shampoo with menthol. I asked how she liked this novelty. It turned out that my friend did not even pay attention to the fact that the shampoo was cooling, which means that she did not experience this pleasure. I noticed that people do not know how to listen to themselves, stop even for a moment to feel the taste of life. A person who wants to enjoy every moment of it, will not miss the opportunity to add paints and new sensations to life, even using such a banal thing as shampoo! But the joy of life and the joy of every day is composed of such little things. Therefore optimistic people are able to enjoy everything that surrounds them, and do not get tired to look for new reasons for happiness and learn to love life.
