I love styling clothes! But I love our planet more. Two years ago I became aware that the textile industry is the second most pollution industry in the world. I found out that the best way for me to share awareness, and contribute to a change amongst most people can be done best by continue working with fashion. I also work freelance so it is all up to me how I do this, for some people I´m too green, for others I ´m not green enough. My way is two communicate with people based on the place of awareness that they are today. When a shopping mall ask me to talk about and show styling of cothes from their shops I don´t say no. I say yes, and put some slow fashion in this by focusing on multiple use of clothing. I show one dress styled in at least two are three ways, dress up and dress down. People like this because they get ideas about styling without using a lot of money, and for the shops they get inspiration on how to sell the clothes they have. In the long term my hope is that people will start asking for more clothes made to last, and also off course that the clothes are sustainable made. But we have to start somewhere, and I think by sharing solutions rather then focusing on the problems people will make a change because it will make it easier for them. I have also introduced the term #30wears with means that when you thinking about buying clothes, think if you are going to use that item 30 times are more ? If the answer is no, maybe you should leave it?
From a job at a small mall where I dressed two employes in two different dresses and added differenet shoes, jacket and purses to make new outfits of the same dress.
I quote Vivienne Westwood:
" It´s quite incredible to think, that we might save the world trough fashion"
