I got Hope from the auction even though i had said i wasnt going to get goats until i was prepared for them. But she connected to me through the fence and i got to talk to her owner. She is about 5 months old and had been bottle fed so she is very friendly.
Once the bid closed i kind of realized what i had done. I got on Craigslist and posted for a helper to get the pen ready. He was able to come out and do the job. And i loved his attitude. Then i started searching for companions for Hope and found Rose. She is a Registered Nigerian Dwarf doe who is supposed to be pregnant to a non-registered buck. I've had her a few weeks and can't really tell if she is pregnant or not. Either way is okay, she is a sweetheart.
They have managed to eat down the overgrown brush in the pen so i like to let them out to graze for a couple of hours a day. But i put them away when I'm not here. Discovered them waiting for me at my front door when i came home from errands today. Looked at the pen and sure enough there are some pallets to be replaced or repaired. Blocked the immediate hole and put them to bed. I sure do love having these ladies.
Plan is to get some more does and then get a buck when Hope is ready to be bred in a few months. Will be looking for a Registered Nigerian Dwarf.
Hope is the white doe with the pink collar, Rose is the brown and white doe with the black collar.
