I took my van to Tom, my mechanic and told him to prepare it for a 1600 mile trip. He checked the brakes and suspension, all the hoses and connections and the battery and alternater. He changed the front valve cover gaskets that were leaking and changed the oil. Not much he could do about the radiator seals leaking without changing the radiator so I have been instructed to keep an eye on the temperature and check fluid levels frequently. In addition to working on the van he also provided fresh new tires for the trailer. So $280 later I feel I have prepared the van and trailer and now we just need to finish putting the trailer together. Been running into delays with Jerry needing to do other things but I am still hoping to be on the ranch for Christmas.
