Say hello to my personal germ factory.
This is baby Dutch. Baby Dutch, like all babies, is gross.
To give you an idea of how gross babies are, Dutch started daycare in February. From February to December, he has been sick 14 times. That means that from February to December, I have been sick 14 times. Most of these were colds, but also included confirmed Roseola and RSV.
The average number of colds per year in the United States is 2-4.
The good news for me is that by exposing baby Dutch to the daycare environment earlier, I may be making it easier for us both later down the road. Research (such as this study) has shown that exposing a child to the illnesses associated with the daycare environment earlier provides a level of immunity by the time they reach early school age.
Sadly, future immunity isn't doing anything to replenish my sick days at work now.
