From my first steemit @post: Introduceyourself, you know I started learning English since I was 30.
When I told my friends that I would go to Canada to learn English then they said to me it was too late because of my age and also I didn't have any sense of English. That was actually true.
And another problem... Even though I'd learned English since middle school, I couldn't speak out any words in English.
When you are told this kind person wanted to go to Canada, what do you want to say?
Anyway, I came to Canada and my English was very very very slowly grown up. I was trying to find out the real reason and I finally found why it was so slow.
Do you know why?
I didn't want to make any mistakes.
After I found out the reason then I was changed. First speak out then learn from the mistakes.
So here!
I wanted to share my mistakes in English
Bill VS Beer
I didn't want to have any more beer but no choice... one more... sigh. When I asked the server for the bill, many times they gave me a beer.
"Can I get a bill, please?"
3 min later...
Beer on the table
Receipt VS Recipe
I ordered one burger, one fries and one coke then paid it then asked the staff I wanted to get a recipe! It was not a franchise. It was like open kitchen style burger restaurant and all staff and all customers in the line looked at me like "WHAT!"
I thought that he didn't understand what I said because of the my accent or pronunciation. So I very loudly said. R.E.C.I.P.E. sigh~
Kitchen VS Chicken
This one still I'm confused. don't know why.... very often I'm saying like can you get me something in the chicken.
Still, I'm making lots of mistakes in English even in this writing too I think.
If I didn't want to make any mistakes in English still, probably I would give up learning it and would be in Korea not in Canada.
If you want to learn English, don't afraid of making any mistakes.
