James Altucher is an entrepreneur, investor, author, podcaster as well as self-made millionaire. Although he attend university, his advice to young people who looking to become wealthy is to skip college.
He said" if you are eighteen and think about how am i going to have million of dollars later on? the first thing i will tell you to do is do not spend two thousand of dollars on a college degree and waste four years of your life", "may be that was good for your parents generation, which means my generation, may be that was good ten years ago," he says,"it is no longer relevant right now."
"instead of going to college, young people can learn skills on line, or by going to library and reading books,"says Alutcher.
While going to college is still largelly the cultural norm for those who looking to enter the professional workforce, he says those expectionas are starting to shift. "more and more companies do not want a degree, he explains, they want skills, so spend those four years learning skills."
Altucher says that he will try to convince his 18 year old doughter not to go to college.
This self-made millionaire says that his daughter is an exceptional writer, therefore, he will pay her an advance to write a book of essays and help her self-publish the book on Amazon and market it after.
Altucher says,"it won't waste her time because i know she will be focused on the thing she is good at."
