Hello guys!
A few weeks ago I've decided to redecorate my room a little bit, so I've ordered a few things from e-bay. And first of them has arrived today. I have to admit, that I was the happiest person in the world at that moment because after a failed exam and sleepless night at least something good happened.
So this is what I got - dreamcatcher.
So, dreamcatchers were originally created and used by American Indians. They were made only from all natural materials and usedto protect sleeping people (usually children) from nightmares.
They believed that the night air is filled with dreams, that can be good or bad. Dreamcatcher was hanging above the bed in a place where the morning sunlight can hit it, it was attracting and catching all sorts of dreams and thoughts into its webs. Good dreams were pass through and gently sliding down the feathers to comfort the sleeper below. Bad dreams were caught up in its protective net and destroyed by the first rays of the morning light.
Besides, dreamcatcher is often related to spiders because there is an Ojibwe legend. The legend says that "spiderwebs" originate with Spider Woman (in American Indians's culture known as Asibikaashi) who takes care of children and the people on the land.
And one more thing - my friend has suggested me to try to make my own, handmade dreamcatcher, so I think I'm gonna try it in a few weeks.
Sweet dreams :*
