Value of Helping Each Other In The Community
Couple weeks back there was a big storm in my city. Fallen trees were everywhere and including my front yard this time. Big pine tree knocked off in my front yard and fell into my neighbor John's driveway.
I found out about it early in the morning and rushed to see what kind of damage it has done. Fortunately no one injured. But tree fell on both the cars John parked in his driveway.
Meanwhile I was looking at it John came and we discussed to calling tree trimmers and The City guys. But everybody was so busy and we had no hope for their service till the end of the day.
Then I came back in and try to call some tree trimming company from nearby city but all in vein. Then I heard the chainsaw sounds and went out and saw John (70+ years old) started to trim the tree by himself. I started to help him to clear the chopped off branches. Then my other neighbors Frank and Farooq showed up with their big chainsaws and helped us to chop off the tree quite quickly.
We cleared one of the cars (red one) and pulled it out. You know what?... there was no dents or any scratches on it and it was all fine.
Then we worked to trim off all the branches fallen over the white car which was heavily under the tree and its branches and we were expecting a big hole in its roof. Once cleared; again this car has no major dents or scratches on it either. Just a minute dent at one side of the roof. It was kind of a miracle for us. It could be a big expense for me but it all came like a blessing that both the cars were fine, also nobody injured.
This little incident got all my neighborhood together; other day me and John was talking that thislittle incident was kind of a blessing as all the neighbors stood to help us like one family and I think neighbors should be like a family.
That was my little story I wanted to share. Do you have any such story which happens to be a blessing? Where your neighbors helped each other?
