First Aid on the Beach!
Just a quick story for today. We drove to the beachside town of Middleton today for Christmas lunch and dinner with my parents.
As soon as we arrived at the house we heard a child start screaming over the road. There had been a push bike accident on the footpath and one of the kids had cut open their foot quite badly.
My wife has always been passionate about first aid since we have spent a lot of time working in remote areas and has always had the habit of always carrying a well Stocked first aid kit in our car.
As soon as my wife heard the upset kid, she was over the road to see how she could help. Our first aid kit came out of the boot in a flash and we were patching the kid up with the help of her mother. Needless to say, the mother was very thankful at how well prepared my lovely wife was. The kid was still upset and in pain, but at least she wasn’t bleeding everywhere any longer.
This was a good reminder that being prepared for this type of event is always a good idea. It isn’t something that I think about very often, even though I spent plenty of time in remote areas for my photography.
I’ll be checking out first aid kit more often from now on.
