Stumbling upon a Facebook friend of mine who lost her daughter, she posted a bunch of photos of red cardinals that she said represented "a visitor from heaven". I decided to look more into this and low and behold there is a little back story, belief, theory of this.
I lost my dad back in March of the year, I will be spending Christmas without him, but with the rest of my family and friends. This year will be especially hard, but the most important thing to do is to spend it with all your loved ones, sharing memories, laughs and gratitude all around.
A cardinal is a Representation of a loved one who has passed. When you see one, it means they are visiting you. They normally show up when you most need them, or miss them. They also have a history of showing up in times of celebration, as well as despair, to let you know they will always be with you. With its beautiful red, vibrant color, it is also to bring cheer, happiness, love and faith on gloomy days in our heart or in our day to day lives.
Unfortunately, where I live, these beautiful birds aren't as common as we'd like. But for me, if we ever did see one, it would just be that much more special, a once or twice in a lifetime sort of thing ... a gift that my father may be looking down on me and my family.
I purchased this ornament for my mom, to represent this beautiful creature in all its glory. Because they aren't as common, she can hang him on her tree, place him on her mantle, or on her bedside table, and know that my father is always looking out for her, and will always keep her safe, and help her thru her time of #grievance.
XOXO, MM
