Hello dear Steemians!
Kärntner Strasse is part of the heart of the city center and visited by millions of tourist every year. From the plaza of the St. Stephens Dome down to the end of the Kärntner Strasse , there are dozens of artistic posers wearing various costumes. They mimic characters especially those from another century by wearing corresponding costumes, posed in one of the prominent areas of the street , stood still frozen-like without moving. Then, tourist stopped-by and posed on their side and they donated some coins in exchange for a pose beside them. Whether in New York City, Paris or Barcelona and many cities in the world…they are present.
MY LADY POSER
One afternoon, I felt like a bird singing freely and happily in my mind while getting out of the office building after a stressful Reports deadline. It was time to go home!
And there she was the lady poser in a nice costume. She'd been posing daily as far as I could remember... so on this day, I decided to pose with her and paid the due.. While posing, I asked her where she´s from and whether it pays to pose for tourists…and she said yes, she could pay her rent , although the tedious part is to prepare herself for the day which was bit difficult to be wearing this costume in summer because of the heat, wearing her make up under the sun and to take the make-up off her face and the costume afterwards. But she said it pays and it is a decent work after getting a permit from the city hall...and that it still is better than becoming dependent from the State. On that day on, I felt a sympathy for these courageous people who stood there no matter what the weather was to earn their living. The only thing questionable is whether they are covered by health insurance... and that I forgot to ask.
