Six whole years ago our granddaughter came into our lives with a massive bump!
Mum had pains at the weekend and was worried enough to go to the hospital because baby Mia wasn't due for a good few weeks... Worrying times.
She was sent back home and was told to rest. She did all that and yet, a few days later, I had a phone call from our son asking if I could possibly go and pick her up and take her back to the hospital because Tammy (Mum) was feeling bad again.
At that time, I had a Toyota Supra - a low-slung sportscar - and Tammy struggled getting in and out of the car.
Needs must and all that, we got her to the hospital.
We waited for a while, another couple were in front of us, but I could see Tammy wasn't doing well.
When she said, "The contractions are at 2 minutes apart, that's not good is it?"
Searching my phone for an ebook - "Tips On How NOT To Panic"...
Tammy was (eventually) taken to the delivery room where she gave birth to our granddaughter. Haydn missed the event by moments!
Here she is - I got to hold her right away!
You're probably wondering about the picture of the monster dog looking at her. That's Bear. He took to her at first sight and though he's getting on in years, he still huffs at her to make her laugh.
Six years is a long time - it's 42 years in 'Dog Years'.
She's coming to visit again tomorrow...
