Cliff diving is something I've always wanted to do at one point in my life but was never sure what or even where to do it at. I ended up just googling spots around me and decided to go. I took my sister with me and the two of us went on a hike to the spot. Luckily it actually wasn't too far of a hike and the drive wasn't as bad either. The weather wasn't too bad, maybe a little chilly but still pretty warm.
You have to climb up to the jumping spot, it's a small trail and it doesn't look to high until you get there. This is me making my way up to it. There is a smaller jump at 20 feet which I didn't know but I still would've opted for the higher 40 feet still even if I did.
Once You get there, as a first timer it's just paralyzing. I was actually standing and staring at the lake for probably 30 minutes. I have video of me getting ready and changing my mind, pretty embarrassing.
I learned the hard way that you should not jump during the cold season because the water level gets low and really cold. I also learned that landing a certain way is not good. I tried to keep my feet straight but right when I hit the water it collapsed and bent inward and my butt hit the water. It was REALLY sore after that......anyways I was ecstatic from the coldness of the water and the fact that I touched the bottom of the lake woke me up. It was very fun and I'm glad that I did it even though it wasn't a very good or smart time to do it.
Well that was my first experience cliff diving. Here are some more pictures of the hike. It was truly beautiful.
