Hi guys, this goes to people who are fairly new into trading memes.
As a meme trader, one of the things you have to master before anything else is being rigid with your strategy. If not, depending on your skill, you’ll go up, but it will be the thing that will bring you down. Oh yes and at many points until you learn it.
If you’re lucky, you won’t loose too much, if not, it might lead to the end of your trading career. Thing is you can’t skip it, it’s like going through 4 levels in university, if you fail it in first level, you’ll carry it over till the next level, even when you pass other aspects, you still have to come back to it, no graduation for you without it.
It’s one of those core courses in the school of meme trading, “ Strategy 101: Discipline and Risk Management.” You can ignore it, delay it, even pretend it’s not real, but the market will always bring you back to it. Sometimes gently. Most times, brutally.
You’ll see the shiny coins, the hyped calls, the influencers pumping charts you don’t even understand, but without strategy, you're a candle in the wind. And the wind in crypto can carry you where you don’t know.
You’ll have days when you turn $50 into $5K, and think you’ve cracked the code. Maybe even tweet something wild like, “This is easy. I was born for this.” But then comes the level you haven’t passed—strategy. Suddenly you're entering too early, overleveraged, ignoring volume, chasing green candles. And just like that, it’s gone.
The harsh reality? The market doesn’t care how smart you are or how much you need the win. Only your strategy will keep you in the game long enough to win consistently.
So what do you do? You slow down. You build your rules. You study your past trades, what worked, what wrecked you. You make peace with missing pumps because missing a pump is better than catching a dump.
Every meme trader has to go through this phase. It’s not optional. And once you master it, that’s when you go from gambling to growth. From hoping to precision. From surviving to thriving.
Until then, welcome to the school. We’ve all been here. Carry your course, but don’t drop out. Your graduation is coming, if you do the work. 🎓
