Laughter is something that is diminishing in day to day life. I don’t know if it is only my observation people are more grumpier, anxious and depressed and are forgetting to smile and laugh.
I know it completely reflects other people’s mood and circumstances. We are getting impatient and annoyed over trivial things. If an elderly is going slow by even 10 miles on a road, we start muttering ourself and look at him in a disgusting manner. If someone does a mistake, rather than rectifying and making sure they learn, we increase their anxiety and stress levels by blaming them. We do not realise our own mistakes. After all we are human. This is causing ant individuals to leave their jobs and become jobless due to stress levels and thus causing a burden on the country.
Last week one of our receptionists was reading a local newspaper and she mentioned some one has abandoned a tractor in the middle of the road and the tractor was lying there for 2 days causing traffic problems. I was thinking who is that idiot who left the tractor on the road but she started laughing. She knew cars left abandoned but never heard tractor being abandoned. The next minute we were laughing out on the floor. Laughter is definitely contagious.
Laughter has many advantages. It can reduce the stress levels, boost the immunity, helps to strengthen the relationships, act as a therapy for depression, good for cardiac health, relax the muscles of the body and helps in rejuvenation. The research on laughter has led to ‘laughter yoga’ where people laugh in groups not necessarily to a joke and this has found to reduce the blood pressure and is good for general health.
So my dear steemians, never lose sense of humour, never let small things upset or control you and laugh to the fullest and don’t suppress this.
Have a great day.
