John Lennon was a very influential musician in the 1960s and 70s. In fact, many people believe it was the CIA that killed him because he was progressively protesting against the Vietnam war and his protest was gaining so much traction, the American government had to stop him. Why? All he was saying was give peace a chance.
Anyway, away from peace protesting. This quote: "Life is what happens when you're busy making other plans." is another great quote from the former Beatle. But what exactly does he mean?
Well, it's pretty straightforward in what it means, but why is he saying it?
Because we are too busy. We put all our focus into "tomorrow" by working as hard as possible "today", so we can have the best things in life. We always think about what we can get or do if we work towards it. But when we've done all that hard work and our lives have passed us by without living for the moment, we will either chase for more better things by working as hard, or we will be too tired to enjoy life.
I'm not too old, but I'm old enough to know that life does go quickly. I have travelled a lot and enjoyed my life, but in my younger travelling days, I was always thinking where I could go next. It took me a good few years and trips, to realise that I should solely be concentrating on this trip. I did that and my travels became much better.
Tomorrow comes every day but today will never happen again. So, live for the moment, because life will pass you by if you're too busy thinking about tomorrow.
