I don't have kids of my own. Not by choice, it's just the hand I was dealt. I take all of that motherly love that I have and give it to my nephews. I confess that the teenagers are teenagers and are more into their friends, games and girlfriends, but I have one that still thinks the world of his Aunt Monica.
I spend a lot of time with this kid. We build forts, read stories, and watch silly videos together. I have taught him that bad words are too big for his little mouth, magic can heal bumped elbows, and how to think outside the box. I treasure every second and I cannot express the depth of my love for this little human being. I hope that he never changes, that he never loses his sense of wonder, and that he always remembers to be kind to others.
Thanks for reading.
