This past gun season(Whitetail) a bunch of us went up to my bosses cabin to get our fill for opening weekend. With an overall of 3 deer out of 4 hunters we came out with less than we hoped, but we still ate great for weeks.
Months later I am left thinking about how great the experience was. Although its not only the hunt that is hanging over me but what I found in my bosses cabin.
Everywhere you turn there is something worth looking at and they each have their own stories attached in this old cabin in the middle of nowhere Upstate NY.
One thing in particular caught my eye. So I picked it up and I asked my boss he had no clue about it. He told me to ask his father who was at the time messing around with a UTV.
This I could tell was an older bow, I'm not sure how old it actually is. Even so was ok, the string was barely frayed and there were arrows what were oddly enough my draw length. My only complication was getting used to the knocks not locking it.
Yes, haha, I couldn't wait. I strung it up and took it outside for a test and what do ya know. . . felt like a 60 lb draw, which to me is perfect.
After messing around with the UTV (opening weekend, cant believe he was out on it) I asked my bosses father about it. He had very little memory of it so I asked him if I could buy it off of him, knowing he or his son will never use it. He said I can use it any time.
I don't think he understands I want to practice with it. Not just bring it home but make it home.
Next time I see him Im going to try at it again and make a money offer. lol
I want that bow. . .
