So, as featured above, a shaved headed Liz.
I got inspired last Thursday and followed through with it that night, bought an electric buzzer from Wally World and went for it when I got home. It was shorter than I expected, but I knew if I didn't like it, it would just grow back anyways, so, why not?!
I actually really like it. I am gonna let it grow out more though, but it was/is a nice change of pace.
The most interesting thing about it, thus far, is people's reactions.
I've gotten alot of "you cut your hair!" - Which I've come up with a bunch if different responses to like "really? I hadn't noticed", "yeah, it was so strange, I woke up with it all shrunk back into my head", or just a casual, "why yes, I did".
I've had quite a bit if compliments on it, which are always sweet! People have called me "brave" and "daring" and are especially shocked and seemingly impressed when I mention I buzzed it myself.
But mostly, I've gotten a lot of looks. People out of the corner of my eye just staring, having nothing to say (I guess one of those, "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all" concepts).
One girl told me it was a "hot conversation topic" between some people who I had seen but didn't have anything to say to Me, but everything to say to other people about it (interesting).
My boss told me it was very "Ginger" of me. She referred to a coworker of mine who also had short hair.. Mind you, I have had my hair short (never buzzed tho) for nearly 6 years now, and this coworker, Just Recently, within the past year, cut her hair... I wasn't even sure what to think about that comment.
It honestly has felt more like a social experiment than a new hair cut.
But all is well, as I put it on an instagram post, "That's fine, I'll be the most interesting thing in your life"
Do it for yourself, don't worry about other people!
