I often have a dilemma with young people who are in dire need of a job but who, after assisting them to get an interview turn it down. You will hear all sorts of reasons for this..
Its not what I want
It's not my passion
I cant do sales
I dont like the company
The pay is too small
Its contract, I want full time
The work hours are bad etc
My advice to such people is: since you DONT have a job and you NEED one why not at least go for the interview first.
Do a bit of research about the company and the position. It may not be as bad as you assume.
Mind you, you have NOT YET got the job, so before you start being picky, do the interview and get the job first. If you eventually do get the job and decide to decline it, you would have gained some well needed experience in attending an interview and would also have a value to bargain with at your next interview.
Whats your take on this?
