We received word last night that our daughter's boyfriend was assaulted in Key West, and flown to a Miami trauma center. We don't know where our girl is, and nobody has seen or heard from her. We don't know where in Key West they were at the time. He is in a medically induced coma and can provide no information at this time.
This is a nightmare we wouldn't wish upon anyone, as any good parent would tell you.
It's hard to keep calm in a situation like this, but we are hours away and unable to travel, so we have no choice but to sit and wait until his family arrives, and the police try to get whatever information they can. Missing Persons report has been filed.
