Einstein is reported to have said that education is what is left after you have forgotten all you learnt at school. Apparently, education goes beyond one's ability to read or write. Life in it's self is a learning process, the moment you stop learning then you no longer live. Literacy is an important tool for learning, but it is not the only tool. From the very beginning, man has learnt by merely observing his environment. Our species have survive by taking lessons from several years of failure, centuries of try and error. The deaths of people from certain afflictions in the past have provided explanations and answers necessary for the survival of future generations. Our ancestors have died from eating certain foods, and this has informed us of the poisonous nature of such foods. This is called learning or even education.
There is no end to education. It is not that you read a book, pass an examination, and finish with education. The whole of life, from the moment you are born to the moment you die, is a process of learning. (Jiddu Krishnamurti)
It is said that the struggles of man begin at birth, and so is his education. My fear is not that we may try and fail, but that we may learn nothing from our failure. Every single day, life provides us with numerous lessons, lessons emanating from our own lives and sometimes the lives of others. Do not be blind to these, note them and let them impact your life. This way, you may go farther than your contemporaries.
