Holy deep freeze Batman!!!! 😬 This morning I awoke to a frosty -32 degrees celsius in my small Ontario town. The sun sure was deceiving as I headed out to my car. I don’t remember having a deep freeze like this in a few years! With the windchill it registered -38 which is pretty much unbareable as far as I’m concerned. My bones just can’t seem to handle it like I used to as I find myself tensing up and hurting all over.
I wasn’t sure how I was going to manage my day at work since I work in an old metal barn without much heat. I was bundled up but my fingers, toes and nose almost always freeze. I work for an auction and take pictures and catalogue items online. So let’s just say it wasn’t very much fun or productive.
Besides that I’ve been farm sitting for a friend who has taken off on vacation to Mexico! What a perfect week she chose to go. Leaving me and a few others to feed and clean and check in on the animal! Even the dogs who usually love playing in the snow where back in quick! The mini horses are wooly but I can tell they can feel it too. My young guy was a bit shivery so I did blanket him and gave them extra hay. All are good and tucked in for another freezing night.
As I came in out of the cold and sat with a hot coffee and blanket on the couch I realize how lucky I am. It’s the little things I’m thankful for like my special little otter that my daughter gave me for Christmas and that my daughter who has juvenile Arthritis is currently in medicated remission. ❤️
So tonight I am grateful for my cozy warm house and comfortable bed to sleep in until tomorrow and I do it all over again. Good night steemers!
