This was a first for him! LOL!
@Truconspiracy is a longtime friend and spiritual brother of mine, and we always enjoy the company of one another. While life shouldn't be all work, having another guy around to help can be a bonus, so we got some work done together. Here's a taste of some of the things that he helped out with.
@TRUECONSPIRACY - THE WORKER
As shown in the cover photo and the photo above, he had to move some sheep. The big one, "Rambo," in the cover photo we moved by hand. The one above was moved in the truck.
We moved a goat too, and once again, an animal got to go for a ride on his lap. He sure lets me put him through a lot when he visits!
By our powers combined, we were able to finish the east side of the perimeter fence too. I'll still have to line the bottom with rock, and run some barbed wire on the top, but the panels are up and the t-posts are in! Now I've just got some of the north side to complete, and we'll be done with the perimeter!
Since all of my hominy that got tipped over in the storm did not stand back up on its own, we placed a cattle panel next to it and tipped it back up too! This job was also much easier with two men to do the work.
Since it is cooler down in the earth, he helped me finish leveling the root cellar hole. Now, whenever he comes back and sees the finished project, he can say, "Hey, I helped with that!" It'll be a great project to have completed, and we are excited to be working on it!
Since harvesting the garden is pretty much a daily chore, got in on the action. Here he is harvesting some snake gourds with Monster Truck! We sure got some nice harvests during his visit!
@TRUECONSPIRACY - GETS REWARDED
Down here is an opportunity to to get another taste of our life as it moves forward. Since this is his fourth visit in less than three years, he's been able to watch us as we progress. Now, he can see the new things on our homestead and give them a try. The quail eggs shown above are not exactly your typical egg harvest, since chicken eggs are most popular in the US.
While they may not be large, they are big on taste, and they sure do look cute in the little basket.
After all his hard work, got to enjoy a taste of our quail eggs, hardboiled. We enjoyed them with our dinner this morning. I think that he liked them!
The snake gourds were another interesting new food around our homestead. @Truconspiracy was very interested in trying these, so I made him a stir fry featuring the snake gourds and the Chinese red noodle beans. He really like it and is planning on growing both in his garden in the future! I'd like to see that. It's nice to inspire others. Today will be the last full day of his visit, since he returns to Wisconsin tomorrow. As always, it's been a blessing to have him visit!
As always, I'm
