Hi to all my community friends. Those of you who knew we had to relocate, the move is done and the new challenges have started, but we have tackled it with a sense of caution and adventure.
We are surrounded by an abundance of wildlife, very hot days and cool nights. Our cat has not taken to the move well and is taking some time settling in. For those who know, she was a feral cat that adopted us so for her this is a very big thing. We miss our previous colleagues, hard not to, they're a very special bunch of people.
I had the weekend to get settled in and started fresh yesterday. Lots to know and do as it goes with a new job and had my first border walk today which on a wild game is a must as border fences must be in good condition. Apart from that we are upgrading all security systems and protocols which on a farm in South Africa is of the utmost importance as we have a government that sings songs about murdering their taxpaying minority which is then implemented by their majority voters. Imagine if you will that you have to double check your doors and windows every night, windows you don't dare leave open. Then you have to have a security gate on every bedroom door inside the house, electric fences and motion censors around the house and a loaded weapon available at all times. This is now in a country where members of the police say that they are striving at disarming the entire country, this is the same police that want to close police stations at 18:00 p.m as they are being attacked in their police stations by the criminals they cannot seem to disarm.
Well anyway, the place is beautiful and I will put up some photos tomorrow. Please bare with me as my office time is very limited and it's the only place I will have internet for the next week or so.
Take care everyone
