In the US state of Michigan, Clinton Township, there is an Institute called Cryogenic Institute. In liquid nitrogen, at temperatures of 196 degrees Celsius, many human bodies are stored there. They are at the stage of clinical death
How does cryosleep work?
Hundred people get frozen in the hope that scientists of the future find out how to wake them and in the hope they discover a treatment of deathly diseases.
People who are decided to be cryogenically frozen must be declared legally death, which means their hearts have ceast to act. Doctors have to remove blood from their bodies and replace it with an antifreeze solution that reduce the risk of tissue damage by frezing. Then the body is frozen with dry ice (CO2).
Lets say that scientists figure out how can be people defrosted without any side effects, lets say they discover new drugs against deathly diseases such as cancer and people will live again. But there is another very important issue they have to solve. It´s our memory ! I mean, if people wake up for hundred of years, will they remember their previous life? If not, isn´t it the same as death? So that´s why scientifists´re working on to record brain (and its memories) to computer.
Okey now, lets say everything I was writing about will come true. Humas who are frozen, will wake up, doctors will cure them and they will remember everything from their previous life. But everything around will be different ! Do you think they can live such a life? It will not have a serious impact on their menthal health?
What do you think about cryosleep? Do you think it´s a chance to live longer? or there is no way to live such a life.
Thank you for all your comments.
