I introduce myself briefly; my name is Marco, I am a biologist and professional photographer based in Costa Rica. I dedicate to photography of nature and landscape, but I also like wedding photography because because that gives me the opportunity to get close to people and capture unique moments.
My passion for photography started when I was 7 years old when I got my first camera, an old analog olympus which took all my vacation trips. At that time it was very expensive to develop the film and for that reason, many of those images could only be seen until years later, when I collected enough money to pay for the process.
The beginning of the university allowed me to combine my two great passions, biology and photography. My goal was always to develop myself in the field biology, that's why I was always looking for a way to go to all the possible excursions and take advantage of those trips to photograph the nature, which is incredibly abundant in Costa Rica.
However, I felt that my images were not good, so I decided to study photography. The problem was that I could not afford a second career, the expenses in biology were high. The solution was simple, but it took time and order, so I became in autodidact. Search on Internet for study progtams from various universities and download books and other resources to cover each of the subjects, while spending hours putting my new knowledge into practice.
After a couple of years, some people saw my pictures, they wanted to use them for a web page, it was the first time I sold an image, wow! I thought, people like my job and they will also pay me for that. That feeling was like a drug, and from that point I knew I wanted to live from photography and that is precisely what I have done for 11 years.
Being part of Steemit is an excellent opportunity to share a little bit of my knowledge and my work, at the same time that I learn from you and your valuable information and experience.
