We searched for Hippo's for days at the Okavango Delta in Botswana. We did many boat rides there to find them, but we mostly saw crocks and lots of different bird. I am not a birdie, so most of the time they don't get me excited at all. I was looking for the magical big Hippo. Every day they seemed to be more rare! Eventually we gave up and moved on to Chobe National park. In Chobe National Park we ran into over 50 Hippo's! We saw them in waters and on land. Because we looked for them for days I got excited by every single Hippo sight.
Not only did we see Hippo's in Botswana. We also got to see 2 Wild dogs. Wild dogs was the #1 animal I wanted to see on safari. We did not get a solid picture of them because they moved around too quickly but we followed them for a few minutes and it were the best safari minutes for me this year.
