Introducing…. BELINDA! I have one rose bush that I planted in my garden in Texas, and that is my Belinda’s dream rose. She is awesome at producing roses and blooms from spring until fall. One of my dreams is to have a thriving cutting garden, so that I can bring fresh blooms in all growing season to brighten the house. I will tell you that Belinda has surely brought me the closest to this dream!
I planted Belinda as a small rose bush only a foot tall, and look at her now. She has grown tall and strong …just a giant in my backyard – almost over taking the lambs ear. I don’t even give her extra special treatment – no extra water, no fertilizer, nothing! I feel that this variety of rose is really hardy in the Texas heat because she has done so well every season. The photo below is when she was young toddler rose bush.
I feel so proud when she blooms. Belinda has waves of blooms. One year, the last round of blooms happened in December - and there were soooooo many flowers! I was just ecstatic!
The best time to cut blooms from the bush is in the early morning. There's something satisfying and delightful about making small arrangements for the house with flowers grown in your very own yard! They are also much more fresh than when you buy from a market or grocery stores, so I've noticed sometimes it lasts a little bit longer.
Thanks for reading and keep on steeming my friends! :) Looks like Steem is on rise again! :D
Love,
Jess
