I read and enjoyed the article-
While I believe that Science will never fully explain our emotions, and what I call “soul responses”, to experiences or stimuli, I find the prolactin level theory in this article quite fascinating. It supports the holistic, mind-body approach, which I totally dig.
Think about a machine, when a piece malfunctions or breaks down, the machine as a whole suffers. Makes sense. So, the reverse holds true as well.
Additionally, I have to agree that I am truly DRAWN to sad music. Sure, the term “sad” is an extremely broad one. However, the point being, that songs with a melancholy, mournful, morose, or even-bittersweet feel, are those that evoke the soul responses within me. They help me work through and decompress whatever thoughts, life happenings or preoccupations I have stirring at the time. Therapeutic ❤️
How about you? Do you find it beneficial when you listen to sad music?
