The angel of death came to the Prophet Ibrahim 'alahis greeting to take his life.
"O Death Angel," asked the Prophet Ibrahim, "Have you ever seen a lover take his lover's life?"
Hearing the words of the Prophet Ibrahim, the Angel of Death can not answer. As he knew, Abraham was the beloved of God.
Verily Abraham was God's beloved.
Truly Ibrahim is the most benevolent lover
Then the Angel of Death then faces Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala and tells what the Prophet Ibrahim said, when Allah has known it.
"Tell Abraham, have you ever seen a lover who does not want to meet his lover?"
When the sentence was delivered to Abraham, he said to the Angel of Death: "Take my life now."
That death is a certainty as well as a way to meet with her lover, the devoted person is not afraid nor does he hate death. The story of the dialogue of Prophet Ibrahim and the Death Angel written by Imam Al Qurthubi in At Tadzkirah also revealed a secret of death for us.
That because death is the way to meet Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala, then we must prepare the provision. And the best stock is taqwa.@
