Well, after all my unnecessary worrying (you think you're so fucking Zen and then realise you're not really at all!) about getting my residency, what with Brexit looming and all, it was REALLY EASY to get my certificate after all.
I just drove up to Fundao on Monday morning, and it was a loverly sunny morning too, I had to open the windows en route as the car was too hot (at 9.30 in the morning in late October!), rocked up to the relevant building and after a very short wait a very nice young woman sorted me out with the certificate - all I needed was my Fiscal Number, my first residence certificate from my local Junta (which I didn't even need proof of address to get), and my passport, oh, and 15 Euros.
Here it is, in all its formal (albeit edited) glory...
I'm legal until 2025! Nice!
Having achieved this MOST IMPORTANT bureaucratic task, which was in fairness a bit of a mission in stages, and only this morning which was simple, I remembered that Fundao market is on Monday mornings so I went and bought some nice green leafy vegetables and a cheap flat cap to celebrate!
The flat cap amuses me - it's both very British and very Portuguese at the same time, a nice cultural cross over, which I kind of like!
Only 6 Euros for the lot - and the cap cost 5 EU, which is about 3 times cheaper what you'll pay in the UK and probably made in the same factory.
I'm already VERY fond of it!
I spent the rest of the afternoon working on my teaching resources and trying and failing to make an international bank transfer, for a crypto purchase - TBH I can't get mad at the site being down, you know crypto, for all I know it may have done me a favour as prices could easily be down the following day.
I ground to a halt around 16.30, mainly thanks to a couple of mental dogs coming to visit, collected a few acorns, tidied up a bit, went to visit the Landlady and then cooked something, and here I am again, dicking about on Hive after a pretty good day.
Obviously I wrote this on Monday, but I wanted to wait until the Hive price dipped below 1000 sats before I posted this, to make myself feel better.
Boa Tarde and Bom Dia for now!
