On it!
22.59 Park Run...
- So I headed off at a 4.40 pace for the first K intending to run the last couple of K faster if I could, but I ran it slightly faster at a 4.33 first K pace, and then check this out for consistency....
I was defo feeling it by the 3rd K, but not too bad, I used people ahead of me to pull me along mentally, and while the last 2K were tough, I feel as though I got this just right.
My chest was a little tight for the last 1.5K, using my upper chest mainly feeling, you know that if you're a runner, it's not great!
So I got this bang on....
I was hoping for just under 23 mins, this course is actually a tad longer than 5K, I think it's actually about 50 metres over you know, maybe even slightly more... but that way it starts and finishes at a nice wide open square bit of the park which is I think what you need....
So my previous training to get me here was....
- 18/04 - Last Park Run = 23.21 - I was trying and just found this too tough for a PB - 4.41/4.40/4.37/4.36/4.32.
- 20/04 - 6k easy - 6.20 pace, 138 BPM (I think this was the first 'breakthrough low HR!)M
- 22/04 - Track intervals - 5 800s, included one warm up....
- 24/04 - 6K easy - 6.25K pace 137 BPM
- 27/04 - Random Beck intervals - 1K/ 800s, 300s, a bit slower than usual.
- 29/04 - Hereford easy ish - 5.47 pace 151 BPM
- 01/05 - Hereford easy ish - 5.58 pace 143 BPM
- 05/05 - Track intervals - 1600 then 2 800s and 2 400s.
- 06/05 - 6.3K easy - 5.57 - 140BPm
- THIS PARK RUN.... 22.59...
HMMM - interesting!
- only three track sessions
- Two easy-ish
- Three easy...
OK nice!!!
I think I have three pointers for myself...
- Longer intervals - 1.2K plus I think
- More easy-ish runs - around the 5.40 pace or even slightly faster - 5-6Ks
- Don't miss out on the easy runs! Around the 6.00 pace here!
