Today was busy, busy, busy! Eight dogs, two different vet clinics in two different states...yeah. I'm tired!
I won't write a lot tonight. But here's a quick summary of all that happened.
I picked Brother and Smiley up from their neuter surgeries this morning around nine a.m. They did great! Both seemed really happy to see me, and for two dogs who have largely been non-expressive, this was a watershed moment. I even got kisses from Smiley at one point. First time ever.
I then had to drive about forty miles to the other vet, counting a trip home to leave Brother and Smiley and get the four going to Pennsylvania on Friday. In the middle of all the loading frenzy, Princess and Midnight escaped the porch and ran downstairs to hop in the car. They meant they were going, too! This was fine with me, since both of those dogs are going to Birmingham next month, Midnight to his forever home and Princess to her foster home. They needed fresh rabies vaccines, so I obliged. I had seven dogs in total, counting Paige.
All was uneventful. Our regular vet is very efficient, so within a couple hours we were on our way home again with six fresh rabies vaccines and health certificates for the four heading out on transport.
My only real problem of the day was an email from the airline saying my ESA letter for Paige is inadequate. They told me what I need, however, so I'll go about that chore tomorrow. It shouldn't be a big deal, and because I notified the airline early about traveling with an ESA dog, there is plenty of time to get this sorted.
Here is a quick little video showing how well Brother and Smiley are doing on leash around people they don't know, and how much fun the four little transport dogs had during their appointments. Enjoy!
