"If you go against what society desires for YOUR life, then it will make you miserable."
That's an interesting claim, but I think it only holds until either (a) you become numbed to the emptiness of it all, and join the contented sheeple, or (b) you discard the claim completely, and make something of your life that's better than what society desires to limit you to.
