Jamaica is already well known for its pristine beaches, rich culture, and warm people. In addition, there is a stark reminder of our bizarre social contract which encourages the unfiltered disdain Britain and its institutions still have for African peoples. Not forgetting the outright contempt some recent mainland Chinese merchants and business people have for the Jamaicans (including Chinese decedents) that support them. With our money, we empower them to serve the interests of their homeland at the expense of our own country. What a shame.
Enough ranting. For centuries whenever Babylon gets too disgusting, we have had these hills, that are actually mountains and escarpments, to escape to as a place of refuge or to even use as theaters of war. Whatever the times call for. Up here, no matter your status in life, we all live free. People and animals alike. I can't help but become one with the land and live in complete harmony with nature. Words can barely describe the wonderful feeling this generates deep with me. What a gift :)
