Today, I bring you the story of a young girl named Mariana Valera. She is 23 years old and was born in Barquisimeto, Lara.
Mariana is a pencil that only draws within the lines of her life. She studies civil engineering at the University Lisandro Alvarado of Lara, commonly known as UCLA. When she was 19 years old, she was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. This illness is a type of cancer that affects your lymphocytes or white blood cells. It has this name to distinguish it from Hodgkin's disease.
But I do not want to talk about science. If you have read my past posts, you may have noticed I am a health professional and she is my patient. Today, I write about her with her permission and consent, respecting her as a patient. Three years ago, she received chemotherapy treatment, but the cancer reemerged. Currently, she is hospitalized in the Enrique Hospital of Valencia because they do not do bone marrow transplants in Lara. Her treatment is very expensive.
