First, accept your age. Do not cover up for it, regret or fear it. Bend your mind to your thoughts while upholding thoughts of maturity. Make your mind flexible to both Kinds. But by all means, do not fight or resist the state of physical age you are in.
If you retire, retire from one thing to another. Do not stop being occupied. Many of those who have retired and remained youthful in their disposition - and even looks - are so because they have always been occupied. Keep yourself busy. Your mind never ages, and it is the lack of something worthwhile to think about or do that makes one age. Also, be outgoing and see if you can be of help to anyone. This will perk your spirit up.
Do not consider the past better than the present - or the future. Many of us get into the habit of saying, " Those were the good old days." The good days are never over until we turn blind to the joys and wonders of the present and the future.
Think young. People age only because they think and feel aged. They hasten their chronological maturity. Psychologists observe that people who bother about their age are at least 10 years older than their chronological age.
Make your emotions as positive as possible. This helps delay aging.
Look not only at the bright side but also at the funny side of life. Maintain a sense of humor. Laugh as often as you can and feel great.
Seek out a new but higher, worthier purpose in life. Change from the lofty to the loftier. Be actually loftier with your purpose.
Acknowledge that change takes place not only in situations but also in the body. But change does not necessarily mean failure. On the contrary, it can mean pleasure, success or growth. Accept it.
Look for things to be thankful for. Cultivate a grateful disposition. If you live gratefully and appreciate the things that come to you, you will not miss the blessings that come each day.
Realize your spiritual destiny. Be fortified by the truth that, as a spirit, you are age-less. This can give you the serenity you need when growing older and feeling disturbed about it. Consider that only your body can age and wear away. It is a mere exterior to your ageless soul, mind and spirit that will survive it. And as a spirit you are indestructible and immune to the withering effects of time.
