This is the reality of my life and I feel deep gratitude for every moment. I wake up every day to a steamy pulsating jungle full of wonderful sounds, smells and sights. Being a nature photographer, I require certain lighting for optimal photo quality and so I spend a lot of time sitting and looking into the jungle. Sometimes seeing amazing birds or animals go by but in poor light where photos would not be possible with the equipment I now have. This is however a good balance of enjoying nature purely for itself with no reward of photos, just for the sheer pleasure of the experience.
My breakfast guest today is most colourful! We study each other silently yet I doubt he is feeling the same elation for the meetup as I am. I love the diversity of the colours with his beautiful blue feet and splash of red until his tail.
Toucans just delight and fascinate me. I can't look at them without imagining myself with a huge long beak and what that could feel like. My head starts to nod downwards as the imaginary beak starts to gain weight. Being a Toucan can't always be easy. A head-turner nonetheless. It would be the coolest thing to see a baby Toucan sitting alongside of a parent bird but so far only in my dreams ☺️
This Chestnut Mandibiled Toucan is one of two types I have seen in the area. I shall endeavor to bring photos of the other soon.
These were taken using my Canon PowerShot SX60 HS
