In life, mankind has been allocated specific stereotypes. According to these stereotypes, ladies or females in general are timid, gentle and sweet, while men were supposed to be strong and protective. It is from these stereotypes, which are probably more like myths or fantasies that this question arises. Should men open doors for women?
Rachel McAdams was reported to have said:
“I find British men very gentlemanly… like opening doors. There is a certain chivalry about British men which I like, and I am a sucker for an accent”.
Delicate Creature:
Females were created by God as kind and lovable creatures. Their structures being more delicate then men’s. They are comparatively more sensitive than them as well. Males on the other hand, were created sturdy and stronger than females. They were labelled as the “Protectors and maintainers of women” . It was ordered to them that they had to deal with them kindly, carefully making sure that they do not break their glass-delicate hearts.
But according to Tim Gunn, who was approached by women opposed to men holding doors for them, said that:
“I have heard women complain about men holding doors for them, as if it is inherently offensive and implies that they are weak… I would hold a door for anyone… It has to do with noticing our fellow human beings and saying, “I recognize that you are on this planet, and I do not want a door hitting you in the face’.
A proper Gentleman:
In order to be a proper gentleman, they are mostly stereotyped as men in suits, having proper manners, and one of these manners being the opening of doors for women as they enter any building or pulling out the chair for her to sit on. While it will not kill men, they prefer not to do it. It is rather an applaud-able act amongst women as it shows that the women is being respected by her male partner. One might even call it basic moral ethics.
It is as Prince Philip said:
“When a man opens a car door for his wife, it is either a new car or a new wife”.
The Ideal Man:
One might even say that if such a man does exist in ones’ life, then they are pretty lucky. Since either men tend to get embarrassed by it or for some reason or the other in the modern world, men have started becoming more and more lethargic. They prefer to watch TV all day long, sitting on their couches rather than enjoying their time out of their house. They lack manners and have just become aggressive creature. It might not be the case with all of them but most of them truly do not know the value of women.
It was righteously said that:
“The boyfriends who still hold bags, open doors, tell their girlfriends they are beautiful and show them respect are real men”.
Being a Women:
Women carry heavy responsibilities in their lives. It is their mother who carry them for nine months, bearing the terrible pain and the suffering that comes along with it but being strong enough to bear their children. Wives play an important role in life, as the support and best friend. They look after the family and the children and work hard every day. And daughters carry the responsibility of being their father’s pride. They are loved and adored. So why is it so hard to open doors for women? It might not be as hard as it seems. If one truly cherishes the females and how strong and hardworking they are, they are actually living life the right way.
Conclusion:
In the end, this simple act of only opening a door might even open a path to a brighter future for men. The one opening the door presents his respect and admiration while the one on the receiving end might just make him into the happiest man alive. Men should not be ashamed of such things. It is only natural for them to care about the ones they love.
One poster named as “Have You Seen Him?” was hung up on the streets, it said:
“He opens doors for you, pulls out your chair, always pays, prefers letters to text messages, volunteers to carry your things, places you in front of his bros, well mannered, always picks you up, believes in ladies first philosophy, has impeccable taste in footwear.
