Your main aim in life should not be to compete against someone or try to beat their records but the main aim should be to beat your own records. For any success you experience, there is still chance to improve on it and to make yourself better.

What you see as your "high score" now or as a major achievement at the moment, if you do not work on it to improve it and to ultimately upgrade yourself, in a matter of time, it will become very common.
Imagine if you were the best user of typewriter during the days of Olympian typewriter, if you refuse to upgrade yourself with the trend of supercomputers that are on the increase, a time will come when both you and your achievement will go obsolete.
Refusal to upgrade yourself is a welcome invitation to failure. This is because, a success not improved upon today may turn out to be failure with the passage of time.
Updating and improving yourself is your absolute prerogative and no one else. If you refuse to take the responsibility to pay the price of improving yourself today, you may fall out of the prize tomorrow.
A pupil that graduated from elementary school as the best student, if he does not work on himself to upgrade to secondary school, a time will come when only that elementary school result will be worth almost nothing. Obviously, no employer will take you on the basis on your elementary school result in lieu of a college degree holder.
Whatever you do, always bear in mind that your success is not the final bus-stop but a continuous adventure. So do not stop improving to get better.
