No matter where you are now or what you are facing right now, or what is not working in your life, you are still better than many people out there. Can I tell you this? Many people are praying to be in your current position. And this is the reason we should be grateful and appreciative of the place we are.
You may have finished from college but not yet employed, and you are complaining that you don't have job yet. But there are some people that are still struggling to make a headway through high school.
You are beautiful and you are complaining that you are not married. Well, this is because you are marriage-able, and because you have your sanity with you. Does the mad woman on the street think about marriage, or does the bedridden patient in ICU think about marriage? These are some of the reasons you should be grateful.
Not until you are appreciative of your current position, you may not move to a higher position. The only thing that would appreciate in your life is what you are appreciative of - otherwise they may start to depreciate. A popular adage from the South-eastern part of Naija expresses this:
E kene dike na nke omere, omee ozoo - Naija adage [Meaning: when you are appreciative of a goodness done, you would see more goodness]
This is absolute truism. Everyday we live, we should be grateful for the gift of life. Okay, how much did you pay to be constantly breathing in air with your nostrils? But do you know that some people with nostrils like you still pay for the oxygen they take? - now you are thinking with me.
The things that are not yet working, and your expectations that are not yet granted notwithstanding, you need to find reasons to stay grateful. And you will see how those other things would start working.
