There are only about three weeks left for Avengers: Endgame, the epic sequel to an epic Avengers: Infinity War, and I just can't contain my excitement anymore. What can I say, I just freaking love MCU movies.
I just managed to watch the Captain Marvel movie recently which sets up Endgame quite nicely and I must say, I really liked the movie. Captain Marvel tell the story of Carol Danvers, possibly the strongest Avenger in the MCU and although she is a new entrant, it seemed to me like she fit perfectly in the story.
The movie has the usual Marvel humour, great action, visual effects, story and more. It was also great to see a bit of Nick Fury's back story, back when he was not such a badass as he is now. I mean, did you see the way he was playing with the cat? Lol.
Anyways, like I always do after watching a great movie, I will be talking about some life lessons that I learned watching Captain Marvel.
Emotions Can Be Powerful Tools
In the movie, Carol Danvers is shown to be too emotional and that comes in the way of her controlling her unique abilities. She is constantly told by her mentor and the super intelligence that rules the Kree world to try to keep her emotions in control.
Later though, it is because of her very emotions that she is able to reach her full potential and become immensely powerful. She is able to overpower her enemies and win the fight for the good side.
In the society we live in, we give too much importance to logic and intelligence and consider emotions to be secondary or something that comes in the way of something else. But if we can harness the power of our emotions, they can be really powerful tools that can help achieve wonders!
Everything May Not Be As It Seems
Truth is stranger than fiction it is said and rightly so. Many times things aren't the way they are and we only perceive them in a certain way thanks to our many, many biases.
Captain Marvel is initially led to believe that the Kree are a noble race of people and she supports and helps them in their cause. She is told that the enemies are trying to take over different worlds and she believes them.
Later on she finds out that the enemies were just refugees trying to find homes to live in and it was the Kree that were the bad guys. Also, she simultaneously finds the truth about her past and learns who she really is and what is really going on.
Also, the cute little, innocent looking cat was actually an alien!
With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility
I know this line is quite overused and what not but it really goes with the story here. Captain Marvel has to be one of the most powerful characters right now and may even give Thanos a run for his money in Endgame.
In the second half of the movie, we see Captain Marvel achieve her full potential and become insanely powerful. She uses this powers to help the people who up until that point she viewed as enemies, trying to finish what her old boss had started.
We should all use our different abilities and powers to help those in need and see to it that we are fulfilling our different responsibilities, instead of pushing one another down, which is usually what happens.
