So, in my last post I talked about the different class of “problems” that humanity has developed thanks to the lifestyle we have become accustomed to in the modern era.
The funny thing is that, when you really think about it, these “problems” rather sound like whinings and minor inconveniences at the most. Still, it’s really amusing seeing people (myself included) reacting the way they do in such situations.
Grocery Problems
Buying groceries is another pain in the behind so we tend to pile up on the stuff we need to buy and then you go to the store one day, only to realize that you have bought a mountain of it, so much so that you are now pushing two carts through the store.
Also, you now need to make two trips to the car. The extra round really hurts when you are so tired from all that grocery buying and all you want to do is enjoy some chips and dip on your couch.
The problems don’t end there. You go home to find that there is simply no more room inside the fridge! Who would have thought too much food could be a problem in today’s world?!
Too Many Damn TV Shows
I love watching TV shows. I have pretty much watched all the popular ones but you know what? They just keep coming with newer shows that are really interesting and you just can’t help but watch them.
The only way you will be able to complete all of those is by binge watching and while it can be real fun, enjoying snacks and spending hours upon hours wondering when and how the next Game of Thrones character will die, it can come in the way of …. life!
How many times have we all said to ourselves, “Just one more episode”? The next thing you know, you see the sun rise and it’s time to go to work. But no worries, you can make up on lost sleep on your desk, right?
Spoilers
With so many TV shows come too many spoilers. God forbid if one of your friends or one of your colleagues at work reveal the fate of Jon Snow in the last episode or you happen to login to your social media which is dark and full of spoilers. (GoT reference :P)
Once you know what is going to happen to your favorite character or the show in general, it just isn’t fun to watch anymore. But you will still watch it because you just have to confirm it for yourself whether or not Jon Snow was really killed off, and if your friends were just joking.
Not Enough Social Media Love
So, we are all using social media, right? There is facebook, twitter, instagram, snapchat to name a few. Most of our social lives have now transferred online and that’s where most of our ‘interactions’ take place.
By interactions I mean likes and comments. Yes, that’s what the human race has come to after developing thousands of languages to converse in. A simple emoji is now enough to relay your feelings. How efficient!
But that’s not where the problem lies. The real problem arises when you spend 30 minutes trying to decide the best filter for your photo so that you can pretend you have an awesome life, but you still don’t get enough likes and comments on it! Time to make some new friends. Friend request sent!
Clothing Problems
By clothing problems, I don’t mean a situation where you are not able to afford. Quite the opposite, actually. Nowadays, we have too much of everything and the same goes for clothes.
There are so many clothes in the wardrobe, but nothing to wear because all your friends have seen in you in them for too many times now. Apparently, wearing the same clothes a lot of times undermines your self respect!
Also, when you go shopping for new clothes and find literally nothing you like after going through countless stores, you feel disappointed in those corporate giants. “You have failed me corporate giants. You have failed me. All this time you wanted my money and now when I want to give it to you, you don’t have anything to offer? Shame!”
