They say you become like the people you hang out with the most. And I completely agree. We human beings feed off of each others’ emotions because let’s face it, we are just emotions-filled bags of flesh and bones.
And since emotions dictate so much of our existence, it is natural to get influenced with the ones that surround us the most. I have been surrounding myself with more and more positive people lately and life has never been better.
The best part is that you become a better version of yourself. All the best parts about you are enhanced and you feel awesome! I, as a person, am someone whose eyes are always looking at the future and this part of me has been greatly enhanced recently.
Maybe it’s because of my leanings towards the tech world which keeps progressing and makes you want to be excited by the future, or maybe it’s something else, but my gaze is often affixed on the future. I wanted to know, through this post, what do you see when you look at the future?
Hope.
Before I ask the question, let me tell you what I see myself. Call me a hopeless, eternal optimist, but I see hope for the human race in the future. Hope for us all.
I know that might sound like a pipe dream right now considering the state of affairs but that is what hope is all about. It’s a feeling, an emotion, a desire that everything will somehow fall into place and things will change for the better.
I see us venturing into all sorts of different fields that will ensure a better life for everyone. I see a point where technology will be so advanced where it could literally provide an abundant living for everyone on the planet.
Would that end all the poverty, suffering, wars or greed, I wonder! One can only hope that it does. I mean, it has to right? This cannot continue forever. WE cannot continue forever, like this, at each others’ throats all the time.
I see a future where somehow the human race finds its way it seems to have lost in the current times. Will we have to go through a period of self discovery, even involving a crisis or a threat to our very existence for that to happen? Who knows if that’s the only way we’ll behave!
What a world would that be where we lift each other up instead of bringing down, a world where each child is happy, educated, and becomes the human that we all ought to be. Think of all the potential we will unlock.
Then, one of the most awaited events in human history, expanding our presence in the cosmos, starting with the colonisation of Mars and a permanent presence on the Moon and then beyond towards something that knows no limits.
Not only will this ensure the survival of humanity but it will launch us into a new era where we will no longer be confined to the boundaries of our beloved planet.
That’s my hope for us . That’s what I see when I look at the future. Maybe we will achieve this one day. I think we certainly can, if we just want it bad enough.
