My youngest daughter loves critters, and she has accumulated an interesting assortment of them. Recently she has been in the process of moving from an apartment to a house, and it was simpler for her if she didn't have the pets to worry about. So they have been living at my house for a couple of weeks.
This is Sweetness, a green-cheeked conure. She came from the pet store with that name, and my daughter opted to keep it. The bird is quite fond of my daughter, but really doesn't give a fig about the rest of us.
Sweety likes to ride around on the dreadlocks when Daughter comes to visit.
This is BadAss the frog. The picture isn't so great, because of the heat lamp. He used to have roommates, but he stole all the crickets from the first one, and then sat on the other one in the water dish and drowned it. So Daughter says he doesn't get any more friends to live with him. I've had to hand feed him dried mealworms because the pet store ran out of crickets. Sometimes he grabs my fingertip along with the mealworm, and that feels SO peculiar!
There is a hedgehog named Oreo in the blue "house." He sleeps all day, so I rarely see him. I hope to get a picture eventually!
And, of course, my grandpuppy , Louie! I have written about him before. He is a mini-dachshund, perhaps mixed with a little something else. My daughter is at least the third owner, so there's a great deal we don't know about him, including his age. The latest vet estimate is 10-12.
Here is my daughter with her cat, Annie, who has always lived at my house, and her dog, Louie. Annie did not appreciate being confined in a blanket, as you can see by her bug-eyes.
And that is the menagerie that has come to stay at my house temporarily!
