New Hampshire mystery woman refused to collect her 560 million lottery winnings without revealing her identity. She opted to go to court requesting that the judge allow her to remain anonymous after she won the lottery in January. The judge ruled that she could claim her prize and keep her identity a secret because her privacy is more important than the lottery rules in her state.
Her lawyer accepted 264 million on her behalf after taxes and immediately gave 249,000 to various non-profits from the designated trust. The secret lottery winner intends to give another 50 million in the future.
Lottery rules would disclose winner's name, hometown, and where the ticket was purchased so aside from revealing the name, the latter will be published.
Nightmares have been experienced by several past lottery winners and surprisingly many say that winning the lottery was the worst thing that has every happened to them due to becoming a target.
